Building simple policy for Linksys/Sveasoft firewall In this example, we create and install simple firewall policy on Linksys appliance running Sveasoft Alchemy firmware. In the Sveasoft software, external interface is vlan1 and internal one is br0. Our firewall obtains its IP address from the ISP dynamically (using DHCP). The internal network uses IP addresses 192.168.1.0/24. We use the firewall as DHCP server for machines on the internal net. We begin launching Firewall Builder GUI which comes up with object tree populated only with standard system objects and empty object folders.
