If you check the Show object attributes in the tree checkbox in the Preferences > Object tab, the object tree displays a second column of information, as shown below.

The information shown depends on the type of object.

If you check the checkbox but don't see the second column, make the panel wider until you see the column separator, then drag the column separator until the columns are in the correct position. Column sizing is saved with the object file, so the next time you open the object, the column display preservers your changes.
